Allara (Briggs Pattison) is a Yorta Yorta, musician, composer, filmmaker, Wayapa Wuurrk-er and involved in the climate justice movement. Using a double bass and loop station at the core, she is inspired by ancient oral traditions and is a natural storyteller. Allara harnesses hard-hitting spoken word taking the listener on a journey reflecting cultural, spiritual and environmental empowerment. Gently lulling audiences into a united chorus of unadorned melodies, her sound is unique and soul-stirring.

Allara understands the need for connection. Her documentary, Beautiful Sunshine, follows her journey to connect with her grandfather and discover her mob’s inspiring legacy of trailblazing Yorta Yorta activism. Beautiful Sunshine and is due to premiere early 2020. Her music, honouring of the spirit, exploring themes of cultural connection to family, country, food, ceremony and sovereignty while making observations of present-day politics.
