Learning is a life-long journey. Starting from those earliest years in childcare and playgroup, through our schooling, all the way up to post-secondary study and training.

The resources below are here to provide an awareness of the available supports Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander youth along with their carers have access to along every step of their education.

 

  • Early Childhood

    Information and links for Aboriginal Childcare Centres and Playgroups, Aboriginal Best Start support sites, the Childcare Subsidy program and Koorie Kids Shine - to promote participation for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander children in kindergarten.
  • IEP, SSG & KESOs

    Information and links covering; Individual Education Plans, Student Support Groups & Koorie Education Support Officers.
  • Programs & Clubs

    Information and links covering 'In School & After School Programs' such as; Deadly Sista Girlz (Waalitj Foundation), Positive Futures (Les Twentyman Foundation), Bert Williams Aboriginal Youth Services along with a variety of different Koorie Homework Clubs.
  • Financial Assistance

    Information and links covering; financial support in the form of scholarships, tuition, educational resources (text books, stationary) along with tertiary, apprenticeship or traineeship study (ABSTUDY).
